NSSLGlobal unveils new beam to increase communication coverage in South East Asia's busy shipping routes

SatComs News, October 2011: Global satellite communications provider NSSLGlobal is announcing their latest milestone in increasing satellite communications coverage and reliability for the maritime industry. The new NSSLGlobal 'spot beam' on the SES NSS6 satellite at 95 East, is online today to support shipping in South East Asia.

The new beam, which will be supported from NSSLGlobal's Cyprus hub, will provide additional capacity as well as beam and hub redundancy for maritime users along the many busy shipping routes in the South East Asia area, including Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia. The beam will enhance NSSLGlobal's already extensive coverage in the area.

NSSLGlobal operates a fully global DVBS2-RCS Network, providing leading edge communications solutions. The addition of this new beam is part of NSSLGlobal's programme of continued technological investment in the service and reach of its network. All of which is aimed at providing customers with cost effective, high-speed and reliable communications solutions that meet their ever-increasing bandwidth demands.

Sally-Anne Ray, Chief Operating Officer at NSSLGlobal comments: "South East Asia is one of the busiest shipping regions on the planet and a key region for our customers. With the ever increasing bandwidth needs of customers it makes sense for NSSLGlobal to be able to increase our capacity as well as plan for the future. As NSSLGlobal continues to grow we anticipate the desires of customers will be focused on higher speed broadband connections, delivered over a world-class infrastructure and backed by superior support, and it is this requirement that we are committed to achieving"
