Government Sales Manager

We are looking for an ambitious, committed employee for our Norwegian office who will develop our position with Norwegian customers across defence, government and enterprise markets and seek to win new customers in the field of satellite communications and information services.

We are seeking to fill a new position for a Sales Manager based from our office in Oslo, where some 25 people work from the overall 250 across the NSSLGlobal Group.   This presents an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing team. Using your sales experience to generate growth from existing clients as well as look for new opportunities primarily in the government and defence market. This is an essential key role in the company’s business, building on the growth in customer demands and our success in the market.  The role will help an individual develop their sales career as well as offer a very interesting integral position within the business with an opportunity to make the role rewarding for a hardworking enthusiastic individual.

You should bring experience of defence and/or government use cases, ideally with a Forces background and/or experience selling to these key customers  along with the personality, professionality, flexibility and market knowledge to be effective. If you are already experienced in satellite communication and/or related information services, it will help you and us. If not, should you think you can rapidly understand what we do, to add to your user experience, then we will develop your skills.  You need to be able to operate independently, and also work as a team player, both in Norway and with the wider Defence & Government team. We expect from you strong customer focus and commercial awareness, strong customer relationship skills by telephone, email and face to face are essential.

Main purpose of job:

  • To understand the Norwegian market, identify and prioritise new customers to approach and look at ways we can win their business ensuring we maximise any scope for growth.
  • Ensuring potential customers are fully briefed on our portfolio of products including hardware, solutions, airtime, projects, parts and services.
  • To provide sales support for specified customers to ensure that sales requests from these customers are handled professionally and quickly in order to meet customer expectations.
  • Build on our existing relationships with partners and suppliers, to help bring solutions to solve customer needs to mutual benefit.
  • To ensure that sales orders and service issues brought into the company are handled smoothly and the customer is kept informed at all times of the latest delivery/service issue resolution.
